Overview

Your feet on the ground and your head in the sky! Travel 1,400 meters above sea level to a village perched on top of the Qadisha Valley. Around you, snowy peaks, ancient Cedars, monasteries carved out of the rocky cliffs, breathtaking hiking trails, and the soul of the immortal poet Gibran Khalil Gibran wafting on the breeze.

In detail

The Qadisha Valley (‘Wadi Qadisha’), which literally means ‘Holy Valley’, is classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. It’s in one of the villages overlooking this extraordinary site that Jacqueline is waiting to welcome you. Look for a house with a red shingled roof, one terrace shaded by leafy bowers, another terrace for contemplating the mountains… and a whiff of Jacqueline’s famous homemade jams.

Meet your host

Born in the ‘Holy Valley’, Jacqueline is surely among the region’s most fervent ambassadors. She cultivates her vegetable garden and several other plots in the surrounding area, the fruit of which she then transforms into the homemade jams and preserves she offers for sale in her little boutique.

Rooms

Dar Qadisha offers two rooms, identical in comfort and price, each with twin beds. One extra bed can be added in each room. The guests have a private bathroom.

What they say.

Our host, Jacqueline in the Qadisha Valley was absolutely fantastic. Please, please pass our feedback on to her. She was warm, friendly, an excellent cook and couldn't do enough for us. We enjoyed our two days with her very, very much and have recommended that all our friends visit Lebanon.
