Less than an hour from Beirut, surrounded by magnificently preserved greenery, an architect built the house of his dreams: ‘Beit Al Wadi’. A secret getaway, since maintained by his family, that welcomes you amidst hill tops, fruit trees and evergreen pines.
Elham is a painter. Born in Venezuela, she studied at the Maracaibo Academy of Fine Arts, at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, and at the Chelsea School of Arts. Elham has worked and showcased her art in her native country, in London and in Beirut, where some of her paintings notably have been put on display at the prestigious Sursock Museum.
In envisioning ‘Beit Al Wadi’, Rabih superposed a contemporary outlook on traditional Lebanese architecture. Inside, classical archways interact with clean lines, while the selected materials and the arrangement of spaces have been designed to seamlessly integrate the place into its environment.

"Many of the hosts are from creative backgrounds, which is evident in the balance they strike between tasteful styling and homeliness. The breakfasts are beautifully presented, whilst the inside knowledge you gain from staying with a Lebanese family is priceless."
