Dar Alma

Boutique hotel in Tyre (Sour) · South Lebanon

Dar Alma · Overview

Dar Alma is the first boutique hotel to become a member of our family of accommodations. A 19th century traditional Lebanese house, Dar Alma is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of Tyre (‘Sour’, in Arabic). While wandering around the narrow streets, you will first hear the whisper of the waves, then notice the house’s bright yellow walls, as if they were floating above the sea.

Philippe & Alma

Who is Alma?

Alma is Philippe’s mother. A real estate specialist, Philippe decided a few years ago to bring life back to this old Tyre house. Along with his wife, Céline, he supervised and took care of each and every detail during the rehabilitation process… You don’t name a place after your mother without aiming high.

Dar Alma & the Sea

Life in Tyre has always been linked to the Mediterranean. The city was one of the major Phoenicians seaports, and nowadays, the fishermen community remains an essential part of its fabric. Dar Alma is halfway between the land and the sea. The house was literally built on the edge of the shore and most rooms offer a sea view. Moreover, the hotel’s guests have a private access to the beach.

"We had a lovely stay in Tyre, at Dar Alma and enjoyed it a lot. The place is wonderful, well designed, with friendly people. And the breakfast was nice as well. Obviously we were among the first guests."
